How it works | |
The patented
liquid crystal sheet design uses the principle of RANDOMLY ALIGNED
liquid crystal molecules which when in their default state, no power,
they disperse the flow of light, thereby causing the image/object behind
the glass to become frosted.
As can be seen from the
diagrams below, when power is applied to the glass the liquid crystal
molecules ALIGN themselves, thereby allowing light to pass freely
through and the image/object behind the glass is restored to clarity. |

Composition - Privacy Glass is simply a specially
manufactured sheet of liquid crystal sandwiched between two sheets of
glass, this is known as the lamination process. There are a number of
finishing processes that the glass undergoes before it can be used, such
as the wiring to activate the liquid crystal and the edge protection to
ensure protection against the elements. |
|
Response Time The response time for Privacy Glass, from clear to translucent, is instantaneous.
